Dishing up

Ever since I moved out waaay back in 2003, my dish set has consisted of Mom's hand-me-down Corelle dishes. Anyone who has visited the Book household EVER probably remembers these dishes.

Since I inherited the plates, I've amassed a collection of off-white Corelle bowls, serving dishes etc. So when I thought that maybe I wanted to upgrade my dishes, I didn't want to lose my nice bowl collection so the new dishes had to match... but nothing is off-white anymore! Everything is white!

For this reason, we didn't even register for dishes for our wedding. I thought all was lost--until I was walking down the aisle at Costco and spotted the Dansk Plateau set in green. Sooooo...

Goodbye old Corelle (being packed safely away)...

Hello new dishes!

Notice the large collection of bowls. FIVE different Corelle bowls, plus my new green ones!

A better look at the green color...

(no, I don't normally keep my dishes in the plants, but it's hard to make dishes look good)

I see no one has commented yet....foiled again mother of the blogger? Love the dishes but curious about the bowls--are you thinking of opening a soup kitchen?

No fair, I didn't expect you to blog while you were out of town.

I have to take the blame for her bowl-ness, she got it from me. I love bowls, as evidenced by the set I got Jenna and Kyle.

Furthermore, JoAnn what are you doing looking at blogs in the morning. Now I have to amp up my blog-stalking (as you call it).

Re: Bowls. I always like to have the right bowl for the job. The deep ones get your cereal too soggy, but the shallow ones cool soup too quickly. You don't know what you're missing until you have pasta bowls (which could be considered plates!!!)

Re: Vacation blogging. I posted this before I left! The laptop is far too slow for me to even CONSIDER blogging while out of town!
