If I look forward to Sacramento for any reason, something must be done. By the time the plane had touched down at Sea-Tac I had decided that it was high time to replace our mattress.
In case you think I am a frivolous spender, here's our old mattress:

And in case that doesn't convince you, how about the fact that it's "extra-firm"? It's so firm that even though it's ancient it hasn't started to sink at all. Why? Because it's actually a slab of marble with a little fabric on top.
All that changed last Wednesday night our new bed arrived.

(picture stolen from Simmon's website because it's kind of hard to show the gloriousness of our mattress in a picture. You can go read about it to further understand its amazingness).
Wednesday night was a great night indeed. I was craddled but not engulfed, supported but not pushed. Amazing! I enjoyed two whole nights on the Mattress of the Gods before leaving for a weekend trip. I had a good trip, too much fun, didn't sleep much, and was really looking forward to sinking into my cozy new mattress after the 10 hour car trip home.
And yet.
When I returned home I found that my upstairs had been transformed into an inferno. A sweltering, insufferable, and certainly unsleepable inferno.
So now we're sleeping here:

(notice that hideous colored pillow case? That's when I discovered that queen-sized sheets are very popular and hard to find on clearance--unless you are willing to settle for nastiness. Which I am.)
So in conclusion: Finally own mattress of my dreams. Too hot to sleep upstairs. Have owned for one week and slept on for a grand total of two days. Life is grand.

Thank heavens the heat won't be with us forever. Your mattress sounds wonderful and just think about what's in store for you in the cool cool evening. G&G B
Geeze. I didn't realize I would be last to post.
Soon Little Miss Muffett will be back on her tuffet.
More importantly, how does The Princess feel about the change?
