Wednesday was Logo's 8th birthday. Because the world does indeed revolve around Logo, Mother Nature celebrated by bringing forth Logo's favorite season: Tanning Season. This dog is a sun worshiper. She simply cannot get enough of the sun. Harry (and most other greyhounds) are pretty sensitive when it comes to sun and heat, but not Logo! I was puttering around the house this afternoon and realized I couldn't find Logo.. never a good sign. I look outside and see what looks to be a dead safari animal in my backyard:
Not to worry, this is just Logo's tanning position. Notice the fully belly exposure, for maximum tan.
She's starting to get her summer tan on her belly. Not very dark yet, but well on her way. In the winter her belly is a delicate pink, but by the end of winter it will be
black. I'm not even exaggerating.
Tanning is apparently a solo activity, as I am getting the stink eye for disturbing her rest.
Mmmm, more sun.
Oops, time to flip.

Have you ever tried to put sunscreen on a dog? I have. See how she's sitting on the couch in that last picture? That's where the sunscreen ends up...
