Kangaroo bits n' pieces

Last weekend was Carissa's bridal shower!

We went with an Australia theme in honor of their upcoming Australia honeymoon. I wanted to make a nice Australian desert but quickly decided that a Pavlova cake was beyond me. Plan B? Kangaroo sugar cookies.

Now this SOUNDS simple enough, but you try finding a kangaroo cookie cutter on short notice! Luckily there is a cookie cutter store in Ballard near where one of my coworkers lives.

Turns out that kangaroo cookies are harder to make than you'd think. A kangaroo boneyard:


Soon we learned the tricks of kangaroo baking. Notice the elegant curve of the tails on these kangaroos:
