I'm going to a baby shower on Tuesday for a girl in my masters program and suddenly I thought "hey, I know, I'll make something!" Even though I rarely sew. Even I have a closet full of half-finished projects because I get frustrated and quit. Somehow I thought this would be a good idea.
Any guesses what this pretty jumble of ribbon is going to turn into?

A little tactile blankie thing! It's made of fleece, has loops of ribbon of various textures around the edge and crinkly stuff pillowed in the middle for added fun.

My downfall while sewing is straight lines. I have a feeling that some practice would help this, but of course I'm too impatient for that. There are definitely some imperfections (see the ric-rak across the hole in the middle? That's to add support because I decided the tuna can was too small and went with the ghee can, which turned out to be giant) but overall I'm pretty happy. Did you notice the little sun rays around the giantly huge circle?
The following pictures are unattractive but give you a better idea what the finished product looks like:

Very creative, Punk! I like the crunchies in it. At some deep level, you probably put them there because you liked crunchies in your toys when you were a baby. Or maybe a candy wrapper just caught your eye and you stuffed it inside without prior thought.
